The Power of Unwavering Faith: From Crumbs to Christ's Glory

In a world that often values credentials and status, it's easy to lose sight of what truly matters. We chase after degrees, titles, and positions, believing they'll bring us satisfaction and purpose. But what if we're missing the bigger picture? What if there's something far more powerful and transformative waiting for us?

The truth is, credentials without Christ are just crumbs. They may offer a taste of status and prestige, but they lack eternal value. This doesn't mean we shouldn't pursue education or career advancement. Rather, it's a call to ensure that our earthly pursuits don't overshadow the divine calling on our lives.

Consider the apostle Paul, a man with an impressive resume by any standard. Highly educated, fluent in multiple languages, and holding a prestigious government position, Paul had it all. Yet, after encountering Jesus on the road to Damascus, he realized that all his accomplishments were worthless compared to knowing Christ.

This powerful transformation begs the question: What makes someone willing to risk everything for the gospel? The answer lies in the life-changing power of an encounter with Jesus. One moment in His presence can turn everything around. Just ask the woman at the well, the lame man at the pool of Bethesda, or the demon-possessed man in the Gerasenes. One encounter with Jesus is all it takes to heal a marriage, change a medical diagnosis, or stabilize mental health.

But here's the challenge: are we bold enough to share this transformative gospel with others? In a world where we spend hours each day on our phones, how often do we use that time to spread the good news? What if we committed to mentioning Jesus or talking to Him just a fraction of the times we check our devices?

The book of Romans provides a powerful reminder of the importance of the gospel. In Romans 1:16-17, Paul declares, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes... For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, 'The just shall live by faith.'"

This passage highlights a crucial aspect of our spiritual journey: faith. But not just any faith – a growing, dynamic faith that moves from strength to strength. Our faith isn't meant to be stagnant. It's designed to blossom, strengthen, and expand as we trust God through different seasons of life.

Sometimes, we confuse our faith with our testimony. While our testimony is powerful and encouraging, faith is something different. Hebrews 11:1 defines faith as "the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Faith will have you looking crazy to others. It's building an ark when it hasn't rained in 120 years. It's thanking God for your children's bright future while you're on your way to the principal's office.

The benefits of increased faith are immeasurable. Jesus said that with faith the size of a mustard seed, we could move mountains (Matthew 17:20). While this could be taken literally, consider the figurative mountains in your life – fear, worry, doubt, trauma. Increased faith has the power to overcome these obstacles and make the impossible possible.

However, praying for increased faith can be scary. We don't know what situations God might use to test and stretch our faith. But remember, we serve a God who isn't confined by time or space. What's tomorrow for us is already in His hands.

Living by faith isn't a sometimes thing – it's an everyday, every situation commitment. Whether facing trials, bad news, or challenging circumstances, we must approach life with unwavering faith. This doesn't mean God will always show up in the way or timing we expect. But even when things don't go as planned, we can still trust in His character and promises.

The journey of faith is fueled by our testimony – the remembrance of God's faithfulness in the past. As the psalmist declared, "I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread" (Psalm 37:25). Our experiences of God's provision and protection in the past give us confidence to face the future with faith.

For those feeling low on faith today, remember that "faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17). Immerse yourself in Scripture, surround yourself with believers who can encourage your faith, and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, "the author and finisher of our faith" (Hebrews 12:2).

The book of Romans provides a clear path to salvation, reminding us that we're all sinners in need of God's grace (Romans 3:23, 6:23). But the good news is that God demonstrated His love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners (Romans 5:8). By confessing with our mouths and believing in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, we can be saved (Romans 10:9).

As we navigate life's challenges, let's commit to living by faith. Let's allow our faith to grow, stretching into new territories and taking over our thoughts, words, and actions. May we reach a point where, like Paul, we can't help but share the good news of Jesus with others, recognizing the incredible grace we've received.

In a world that often feels chaotic and uncertain, unwavering faith in Christ provides an anchor for our souls. It's not about having all the answers or never experiencing doubt. Rather, it's about trusting in a God who is faithful, even when we can't see the way forward.

So today, let's choose faith. Let's thank God for every test, trial, and disappointment, knowing that these are opportunities for our faith to increase. As we do, we'll discover a life filled with purpose, power, and the unshakeable peace that comes from knowing we're held in the hands of a loving God.
